Magnolia Market Silos
My infatuation with Chip + Joanna Gaines recently began to flourish within the past year. I did not know much about the Gaines family, and I was not aware they had a popular television show. All I knew was I started seeing gorgeous home decor, kitchen utensils, bedding and a few other incredible things in an enclosed house-shaped structure popping up in the middle of my favorite Target stores. So I take a peek inside, and I notice real life Pocahontas and John Smith on the covers of the books on display and merch tags. I was instantly here for it. Their style is totally my style, classic with a twist. I was instantly hooked, and I'm beaming with pride to say, the majority of my home decorations are now Hearth & Hand brand.
The trip:
First of all, no one really needs a reason to visit MM. It's basically Disneyworld for adults (no roller coasters necessary). I have a Just Aneissa blog take over post from a friend who will be spending the next year of her life doing missionary work in Africa. We wanted to spend a day together before her big move, so I got to thinking, She's never been to the silos, I've never been to the silos...let's spend a day at the silos! This particular adventure was also on my Spring Bucket List. If you haven't checked out what I have planned for the Spring season, you absolutely should!

Magnolia Market & The Silos:
So we get there, and the atmosphere is everything I thought it would be and more. Remember that house structure made out of rails to display Chip + Jo's merch in Target; this was like what it looks like in the actual "house." Magnolia Market has every single inch of space covered in products I undoubtedly need in my home. Kitchen utensils, decorative display items, coffee tumblers, wall art, I mean you already know they have it all! Not just for crazy people who want their home to look perfect like me, there is something for everyone. Men, women, children, no joke everyone can find and love something at MM. Outside of the actual market area, there are tons of food trucks parked around the perimeter of a lush lounge area and tables for community- style open seating. Endless possibilities for grub. The food truck version of Chip + Jo's restaurant Magnolia Table is there with a delicious menu, along with an interchangeable pizza truck, grilled cheese truck, snow cone truck, and several others! The cutest airstream version of the famous Silos Baking Company bakery is there as well, and it's only a few yards away from the real deal. The scrumptious Silos Baking Co. is no joke. Several lovely baked goods are almost audibly begging to be consumed as you walk in to make a purchase. I got exactly what I needed.
Tips for the Silos:
We are going to go ahead and skip the would I recommend section the answer is indubitably. I would never let you read all the way down to this part without giving you some pointers for your own Magnolia Market adventure.
Timing
- The best time to visit the Silos would be a weekday. Within the first few hours of operation or anytime after 4:00 pm. The early afternoon time can get a bit crowded, but it's all under control and extremely organized.
Parking
-There is $10.00 parking directly across the street from MM, but I know you want to save your hard earned coin for everything inside the market. There is free parking on 8th street near the silos within walking distance, indulge in that. It's not far at all, and the area is heavily populated and secure.
Plan ahead
-If you are really looking for some new products to decorate with, be prepared to spend some shmoney. Have a budget + think ahead on what you want to purchase. I knew I wanted a souvenir, a classic campfire mug for $18.00. Tees and hoodies range in prices from $32.00-$52.00 so if you are serious about dropping dollar bills, some prior research might be necessary.
Bring a friend
- There are some seriously adorable photo opportunities scattered throughout the property. Take advantage of every single square inch of that place carpe diem + then some. When I was there a group of cheerleaders were jumping all over each other and forming pyramids with the silos in the background. There was absolutely no judgment on my part! Only regret I had no upper body strength to join them.
H20
- If you go heavy on the water like I usually do, bring some kind of container. There are several water stations in the area. So instead of paying $2.00 on a 16 oz bottle, you are going to consume in seconds, bring your own tumbler and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Waco tour
- There is a Waco city trolley that takes you on a little journey. The transportation makes frequent stops at a ton of good restaurants and bakeries, the Dr. Pepper Museum ($10.00 admission) and Spice Village. As if you could do even more shopping in the city, Spice Village Boutique has an infinite amount of quirky gifts and Texas pride merch. The trolley is free, takes about twenty minutes to do a complete rotation, and it will pick you up at any of the previously mentioned stops.
Magnolia Table restaurant
-If you plan on dining at the Magnolia Table restaurant, go there first and make a reservation. Wait time can be up to three hours! The establishment opens at 6:00 am and closes every day at 3:00 pm, get there early and place your name on a list. Then, I would suggest exploring the silos until your wait time is almost over. The restaurant is not on the actual site; you will have to drive about two miles there, keep that in mind.
Magnolia Market was on my Spring bucket list, but I would honestly enjoy it any day of the year. It was a great adventure and the perfect send-off for a dear friend. I more than highly recommend you check out this whimsical place for yourself!
