2019 Spring Fashion Trends
The most colorful time of the year is here! Spring has sprung so bright hues (and pollen allergies) are in full swing! Here's a bit of what is trending this year in Spring season fashion.
Mixed Prints:
This trend has slowly been making its way on the scene and its finally here to stay this Spring season. Alice + Olivia, Self-Portrait, and Diane von Furstenberg are all major designers who have given their stamp of approval during New York Fashion Week. Don’t be afraid to mix it up! This trend is amusing if you've studied the color wheel. You can mix a navy print with a contrasting burnt orange print and make it really funky. A neon yellow with a deep berry purple print would be so absolutely gorgeous. This one is fun because you can play around with your options and create entirely new ensembles.
Polka Dots:
Polka dots are huge on the scene right now! The contrasting dots are really popping. Carolina Herrera went heavy on the polka dots this year in NYFW and I’m not mad the I Love Lucy look! Polka dots are so versatile they have almost become neutrals. You can sport polka dots head-to-toe or mix them with neutral colors animal prints.
Neon:
Not sure how I to feel about this one, but the '80s are making an enormous come back. I'll allow it; there are some neon colors I can get on board with. Pinks and oranges flatter my skin tone. So I will accumulate a few pieces of neon. I'm not entirely sold out to this trend, but I will participate.
A-Line (full) skirts:
Finally! A trend I can dive in to! I love a good high waisted skirt. In at the waist, out at the hips, 100% my style. You can catch me in a full skirt almost every single day of the week. I love it when I'm ahead of the trend curve!
Living Coral Color:
This coral color has officially been dubbed 2019's Color of the Year. It's warm, but not overpowering. It looks fantastic on a wide range of skin tones, and this color will still go strong throughout the Summer and Autumn seasons. Pantone is defining Living Coral as "an animated life-affirming shade of orange with golden undertones." I'm beyond excited to incorporate this hue to my wardrobe.
Fashion is honestly what you make it. If you can rock a burlap potato sack with confidence, guess what, its fashion. Don't feel like you have to stick to any trends wholeheartedly. Fads come + go in waves, and before you know it, something completely different is creeping it’s way into your closet.
