Ten Praise & Worship Songs I Can't Live Without

Ten Praise & Worship Songs I Can't Live Without

Every song exalting our Lord and Savior is a great song, but some songs just punch you in the gut, make you stank-face, and shout snot all over the pew. Here is a list of ten songs in my Spotify playlist I could not live without.

No Reason to Fear- J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise

- This song is a bop and a half and a full-body workout. What is Zumba when you go to church every Sunday? I go full-throttle every time this song is playing. I am soloist #2 and I get down, just ask the guy stopped at the red light next to me.

Glory to Glory- William Matthews

- The lyrics of this song are so true, we are straight up transformed by the power of The Lord and we will never be the same. Let the Holy Rolling begin.

Rain Only Matters/ Expecting a Harvest- William McDowell

- I still remember exactly where I was when I heard this song for the first time, I just immediately started screaming! The first line alone is a complete paradigm shift and we can shout on that all night long. This song is all about expectations and things to come. Hey, the future is exciting, and just knowing it’s not over until The Lord says it’s over, make room, it’s time to dance.

What Mercy Did For Me- People & Songs feat. Crystal Yates, Michael Tyler, Joshua Sherman

Again with the lyrics. The passion on this song is real y’all. It is an intimate moment, and a list of all the things the Lord didn’t have to do, but He did.

Ride On King Jesus- Pastor Rob, Shara McKee, and The Pentecostals of Katy Choir

- There are a ton of versions of this song, but the POK Choir tears it up! I have loved this song since childhood, songs about Heaven are so exhilarating, uh streets of pure gold and plush robes, yes and Amen. The lyrics in today’s terminology, “Once the trumpets sound, deuces!”

King of My Heart- Steffany Getzinger

- Steff (I call her Steff because we are friends in my head) Her voice alone could melt a heart of stone. She could sing the alphabet and I would cry. I have to drive through puddles of my own tears when I hear this song in the car.

We Lift You Higher- Texas Bible College

- Homage to my alma mater. I love a good vertical song. A song that unites the congregation and gets the mind focused on the goodness of The Lord, those are my favorites. Don’t look to the left, don’t look to the right, look up and thank the Lord for his blessings!

Your Great Name- Todd Dunlaney

- As close as the mention of His name, whether a whisper or a shout, there is power in the name of Jesus. An entire situation can change in a millisecond at the mention of that name. Sometimes I cannot wrap my pea brain around that.

Arise (You Are Good)- William Murphy

- This song is a slide to the left, slide to the right bop. My laundry is finished in a fraction of the time when this song is playing at home!

Death Was Arrested- North Point InsideOut

- The ultimate Easter jam. This anthem declares the freedom that we did not purchase so we better celebrate while we have the chance. New life and fresh starts are a blessing. Not many people realize they have the opportunity to live without the guilt of the past, so this song is a beautiful reminder.
