Love Your Lord

Love Your Lord

Gary Chapman has a series of books dedicated to individuals and their love languages. There are five ways to show and receive love. Love languages can vary based on personality and upbringing. Receiving gifts, physical touch, quality time, words of affirmation, and acts of service are all ways to let a person know you sincerely care for them. When it comes down to our personal connection with The Lord, there are three basic ways to express our love.

Love in Worship

Psalm 105:37-45

This chapter lists a majority of ways The Lord provides for His people. Rescue, protection, guidance, and answered prayers are all avenues The Lord show us He cares. To reciprocate that love, we offer worship every moment of every day. The way we interact with others, the clothing we wear, and our attitudes, should all be in worship as a reflection of The Lord's many blessings.

Love in Giving

II Corinthians 8:16-9:5

Tithes + offering are crucial to The Kingdom. To display love in giving means being on time with your income. Give consistently and give generously. The Lord honors those who assist others. Blessed to be a blessing is a familiar concept for people who understand the God-given increase. Be faithful in your tithing, offering, and generously give to others for The Kingdom.

Love in Relationship

Isaiah 10:20-13:22

It is extremely difficult to be in love with someone you do not have a relationship with. The more we communicate with The Lord and exercise our connection through trust, the more we begin to fall in love with Him and the things related to the Kingdom. It becomes easier to love your brothers and sisters in Christ. The wheels turn a little bit smoother when relationship and understanding come into the picture.

There is liberty to personalize these concepts for you as an individual. You can show love by praying for an extended period of time. Display love by financially donating to a ministry in your church. Express love by taking someone out to lunch and let them know that you care for them. You cannot measure a good deed done in the name of The Lord.
