Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

What I'm Thankful For

What I'm Thankful For

I try to be thankful 365 days a year. Every day above ground is a great day, right? Around the Holiday season life gets extra warm + fuzzy, and we all tend to reflect on the things, so here’s a list of a few things I appreciate.

Health:

Twenty-five years on earth and I’ve never had one major health problem, that alone is a great reason to shout! I’ve never even broken a bone, and I’ve had a very adventurous childhood so I feel like maybe I should have, but I’m healthy + I’m glad.

Family:

Parents yes, duh. Without them, there would be no me, but being the youngest of three siblings definitely has benefits. My older brother, Robert was in the navy, and he taught me (his version) of self-defense. I’m so thankful for him because he showed me how to be fearless at a young age. I still remember sessions in the garage when we would box until it was time for dinner and I felt invincible. He gave me the confidence to not only protect myself but to also speak up and protect the people I care about.

I’m also thankful for my older sister, Deedee. She taught me how to see the beauty in every little thing. She showed me the importance of laughter and how to see things from every point of view. I feel like that concept empathy is very rare in today’s world and I’m glad she took the time to impart her knowledge to me and not just wave me away as some older sisters would. So I basically grew up in a perfectly balanced ying-yang home, and I’m grateful for every minute of my childhood.

Overall Protection:

I have been in church my entire life, and I’m so thankful for the Lord’s protection. I used to feel like I never had a testimony. Friends and people I grew up around had such history and troubled upbringings, could you believe I used to feel left out? It wasn’t until an Easter service during my preteen years. The realization clicked; I have the best testimony of all because I haven’t been exposed to any type of drug, alcohol, or abuse. So I’m grateful for The Lord’s hand in every aspect of my life, and every day I try to show the kindness that has me been extended to me.
