Ten Reasons Why Your Face Is Not Clearing Up
We have all had a blemish pop up and what seems like the most disrespectful time in history. Sometimes it can be a little extra sugar a couple of nights before; sometimes, it can be hormonal. There are a few external preventative measures that can be taken to make sure ance does not ruin your day.
Touching your face with dirty hands
To all those heavy thinkers, stop resting your chin in your hands. When you are daydreaming about that special someone, do your best to keep your hands off of your cheeks. You come in contact with so many doorknobs and light switches every day; it would be a shame if some of those germs got onto your beautiful face, so hands-off.
Lack of rest
Seven to nine hours of sleep each night would be absolutely magnificent! Unforturnatley, some of us boss babes do not have the pleasure of lying in bed 20% of the day. As soon as you get home, make sure you begin the resting process by decompressing and mentally unpack the day. Continue to rest by bathing and indulging in your nighttime skin routine.
Not consuming enough water throughout the day
Six to eight cups, people! You can never go wrong with an entire gallon. There are so many health benefits to sipping water throughout the day.
Dirty phone screen
Your phone rummages from your purse to your back pocket, to the restaurant dinner table, then to your face to receive calls. A ton of bacteria can result in cheeks blemishes and acne scars. Sanitize your phone screen multiple times a week! Alcohol swab your phone screen, back, and sides.
Stress
Try not to stress; easier said than done. Prioritize your day. Make lists, talk it out, take a bubble bath. Whatever you need to do to get rid of the negative tension, do it so that results do not show up on the middle of your forehead.
Not following the sixty-second rule
One major problem that may lead to ance is not cleansing your face for a long enough period of time. Your face should be washed for at least sixty seconds each night for your cleansers to do their job and your following products to successfully absorb into your skin.
Too many facial products
By now, I am sure we all have our nightly skincare routine on-lock. It obviously does not hurt to introduce new brands and products into the mix. The key to this concept is to introduce one new product at a time. Use consistently (unless you develop an immediate allergic reaction) for at least two weeks. By then, you should know if a product is right for you or not.
Hair products on the face/hairline
Too much hairspray, gel, or mouse on the hairline can cause bacteria buildup on the forehead and around the ears. Be extra careful when applying haircare products.
Dirty glasses
If you wear specs, it is essential to clean them routinely. You walk out into so many different enviroments, past smokers, and pollution. It is important to take care of accessories that touch your face.
Not washing your pillowcases or sheets
Just like your cell phone device, your sheets and pillowcases should be washed regularly. Keep it clean, and allow all of the components to work in harmony for your complexion.
