Peppermint Bark

Peppermint Bark

Hello Holiday Season! Some of the most scrumptious Holiday sweets are conveniently simple. One of our favorite Christmas party favors is a goodie bag filled with peppermint bark. This recipe is simple, inexpensive, and the perfect takeaway for festive gatherings.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yields: 32 servings

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz milk chocolate

  • 8 oz white chocolate

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

  • 1/3 cup crushed candy cane pieces

Directions:

  • Finely chop milk chocolate pieces and set aside

  • Finely chop white chocolate pieces and set aside

  • Line desired baking sheet with wax paper (an 8x8 sheet is ideal for the layering aesthetic, but any size will work)

  • Melt chocolate separately by using either the double boiling method (preferred) or microwaving with a teaspoon of coconut oil until smooth

  • Pour the peppermint extract into the melted milk chocolate and stir until incorporated

  • Spread the milk chocolate layer evenly across the lined baking sheet

  • Pour the white chocolate layer on top of the milk chocolate and spread evenly

  • Immediately sprinkle the crushed candy cane pieces on top

  • Allow peppermint bark to harden at room temperature before cutting/breaking

  • Enjoy!

Note: This recipe can be modified with dark, milk, or white chocolate. Make sure whichever type you use, the quality is high. The higher the chocolate quality, the smoother the taste. The bark is best left at room temperature. Do not refrigerate during or after making.
