Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Best Houston Brunch Spots

Best Houston Brunch Spots

I think I love brunch so much because it’s an excuse to eat breakfast food as late as I want to. I party hard on the weekends (as hard as any mentally 88-year-old woman would) so on Saturdays I just want to go somewhere and have strangers prepare pancakes + eggs for me. Here are some of my fave brunch spots in the greater Houston area.

The Toasted Yolk

This classic chain has humongous portions!  I’m talking pancakes bigger than my face. The Toasted Yolk is a classic cafe with a ton of options. Perfect for those sleepy Saturday mornings when you want a little bit of everything.

Another Broken Egg Cafe

There are egg masters in the kitchen. Literally any way you can consume an egg they can make it for you. They also have lots of twists on other breakfast food as well. Like coffee infused pancakes during the Holiday season and the best bananas foster pancakes I’ve ever had.

The Black Sheep Bistro

This quaint little spot is the only one of it’s kind located in Spring, TX. Just thinking about the crab cake eggs Benedict makes my mouth water. If we’re talking about Belgium waffle awards, well, they win first place.

Bring a friend to roll you out of this place.

The Dunlavy

If you’re looking for delicious brunch and a super chic Instagram location. The Dunlavy is your place. It’s gorgeous with chandelier lighting + an amazing breakfast sandwich menu.

Tout Suite

One of my faves! Tout Suite is a small business with incredible food. That coffee though, next level! Any way you want it, that’s the way you need it. It’s more than delicious, it’s life-altering.

Mimi’s Cafe

Mimi’s Cafe tastes like the weekends when all of your cousins came over and partied until 3:00am. The next morning, your precious little grandmother cooked every breakfast food under the sun. That is legitimately what Mimi’s is like. The only difference is, you have to wear publicly acceptable clothes, instead of your 2002 Hercules Megara pajama dress.

Downhouse

This stylish restaurant is so chill. Lined with booths for the ultimate comfort. Biscuit and gravy central, but they also have a wide range on the menu. Including fresh salads, if you’re into that sort of thing. I usually try to persuade whoever I’m with to get different things so I can try them. So it’s really like having here brunch meals in one sitting.

Tiny Boxwoods

Chic, dainty, and totally my style. I’m always so indecisive when I go there. I think I’m going to get one thing, then I see the special for the day + I’m back to square one. The atmosphere is totally fáncy I tend to linger here and have the time of my life.

I can’t even with their homemade biscuits.

Black Walnut Cafe

Chocolate chip pancakes, lobster benedict, Tex-Mex omelet. That’s just three out of one million (more or less) options to choose from at Black Walnut Cafe. I’ve never had a mediocre meal here; they’ve all been top-notch. During the Autumn season, they go pumpkin crazy, as they should, with pumpkin lattes, pancakes and even, pumpkin ravioli. “Thank you Lord for this food.”

The Breakfast Klub

This joint has been on my food bucket list for a v long time. When you walk through the door it’s straight up like walking into the 90s. I was greeted by all of my “aunties” behind the counter and consumed the absolute best chicken + waffles in the history of the world.

All of these locations are amazing, that’s why I couldn’t put them into any particular order. It would be like forcing me to choose one of my children over the others! If you’ve been to any of these places or you have other suggestions that weren’t mentioned here please let me know! I’m begging you. I’m always in the hunt for new places and great grub.
