Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Washington DC

Washington DC

Love is an understatement when it comes to the way I feel about Washington DC. My sister and I had a six-hour layover on our flight out of the country, so we decided to squeeze every millisecond out of that time and explore.

Washington DC food:

The food is everything. When you think of just classic American cuisine DC has is it all, The salads are humongous + delicious, without a doubt some the freshest ingredients I've ever consumed. I know it's rare to read about me drooling over a salad, but here we are.

The atmosphere:

Absolutely perfect weather. A steady 75° the entire time. We went to the Lincoln Memorial, and after the one thousand steps it takes to get inside, the cool breeze was so refreshing! Everyone is dressed so nicely around the White House area, that is totally expected, but just seeing it with my own eyes was like, "Wow, ok I would thrive here!" I have a deep appreciation for business suits, and Washington DC is crawling with men wearing them. *running girl emoji + luggage emoji*

What I learned:

Washington DC taught me knowledge is power. I mean I already knew that, but seeing it first hand was so amazing. I felt like my IQ was rising just by standing outside. Everyone I interacted with was so knowledgeable about the location and everything we asked them. All the DC locals are lowkey tour guides. Even our Lyft driver was informing us about the city from the sites back to the airport. I felt like I was in the middle of CNN. It's perfectly ok to educate yourself. Fill your brain with information. Intentionally learn something new every day.
