Summer Season Hacks

Summer Season Hacks

Here comes the sun! It is time to throw the schedule out the window + chill. No matter what your plans are this hot season, you can still be prepared to own your summer in the best way with these essential items.

- Sunscreen

Protection is a must! If you are not wearing sunscreen every day this summer, do not come crying to me when your skin looks like leather prematurely. Your daily dose of vitamin D can be relaxing and borderline crucial, but soak up the rays in the most healthy way possible; protect yourself. Tans are cute, blistering peeling flesh, not so much.

- Toner

You have not experienced summer until you have experienced three-degree temperatures in Texas summer. You are going to sweat, man. There is just no way around it. Jumping back-and-forth between the hot outdoors, and the cold building temperatures can cause sweat to cake on your skin. Refresh yourself throughout the day with a natural aloe vera, green tea, or rosewater-based toner. It will keep you fresh longer and help you not to feel so drained throughout the day.

- Cloth headband curls

Gorgeous, heartless curl hack. The cloth headband has saved my tresses. Before you go to bed, put a headband on the crown of your head. Take a small 1-2 inch piece of hair and wrap it all the way around the entire headband. You will look like a 1900s handmaiden in for the night, but when you wake up and pull the stands from the cloth headband, you will have effortless bounce and mermaid-like texture. You are welcome.

I washed up like this.

- Water bottle

Stay hydrated! You need sixteen ounces as soon as you wake up to replenish what you have lost during sleep. Throughout the day when you are stunting + twirling you need water, sis. Especially if you plan on guzzling sugary drinks at the beach, or lemonade at the picnic make sure you have H2O first!

- Sunnies

If you want premature crow’s feet wrinkles around your eyes, please leave your sunglasses at home. If you were trying to protect your retinas from the summer sun and look dazzling while doing it, invest in a great pair of sunglasses. Sunnies do not have to be expensive; in fact, some of the cutest pairs I have seen are less than $10.00! I am partial to the super mirrored lenses; they are better to scope out the boys.

- Essential oils

Sometimes the party really does not begin until the sun goes down. Unfortunately, that is also prime time for the bugs to come out and suck your blood or bite your flesh. Lavender oil and peppermint oil are a natural bug, mosquito, and spider repellent. You do not have to use both at the same time, place a few drops of peppermint or lavender where you would spray perfume and on your legs for protection.

- Signature travel bag

Whether your plans are at the beach, or a day in the city, you are going to need a travel bag. Your purse can only carry so much. If you have multiple outfits for the day (no judgment here) take a bag with you for a quick outfit change or some essentials you might need.

Summertime temps can drain your energy and keep you from living your best party girl life if you let it. Work smarter not harder this summer season to ensure your adventures are thrilling and your Instagram profile is on point.
